Vine: Six Seconds of Fame

A little green application has developed a lot of power when it comes to putting users in the lime light. This app is called Vine, and it has transformed the expression "15 minutes of fame" to "6 seconds of Internet stardom." The most renowned Viners have progressed from everday users to icons with millions of followers, which has given them a variety of business and career opportunities. From one end, these icons can pocket a couple thousand dollars for posting a couple seconds of a video marketing a company product. On an even better end, some have landed TV shows and movie deals because of their success on the media outlet. Who are these users? Below are some of Vine's most famous users and the outcomes of their growing popularity.

Us the Duo are married singers who began their musical journey using the social media application. After growing their fanbase on this platform, they were able to sign with Republic Records, create two albums, and embark on an international tour. Today, they have 4.9 million followers.

Some Viners have been recognized through different awards and recognitions. Thomas Sanders, known for his narration of stranger's lives, won Ryan Seacrest's title of "Favorite Vine Celebrity," while Logan Paul has appeared on TV and landed a nomination for Shorty awards. These awards recognize people who are successful on the Internet.

Not all of the users became famous using Vine. Actor Josh Peck, who you may remember from Nickelodeon's television series Drake and Josh, has continued to pursue comedy through 6 second Vine posts. He has over 8.8 million followers on Vine today.

Brittnay Furlan is one of the most popular female Viners, grossing 9.6 million followers to date. Her crude, over-the-top humor has landed her a deal with a sketch comedy show produced by Seth Green.

Viner King Bach has 14.1 million followers on Vine, and is arguably today's most popular male Viner. Being so influencial on social media has landed him many opportunities, including featuring First Lady Michelle Obama in a Vine last week.

Cameron Dallas, also one of Vine's most influencial users, has almost 9 million followers. His success on Vine has landed him a leading role in the 2014 movie "Expelled," which features other famous Vine and Youtube stars Lia Marie Johnson, Andrea Russett, and Teala Dunn.

The Internet generates both positive and negative press, but it's indisputable that users and the media have discovered a lot of talent with it. Vine has served as a great outlet for individuals to entertain users and express themselves. In some cases, a couple seconds of content can even launch a career.
